Water Features

Any garden can benefit greatly from the addition of a water feature. Fortunately, water features such as outdoor waterfalls and water fountains can be constructed from a variety of materials.

Stainless Steal

This is one of the most commonly used materials for water features. It is however imperative that you select high quality steel. Higher grades of steel are less likely to be subjected to damage and corrosion by the outdoor environmental elements.

Stainless steel is a popular choice due to its contemporary and extremely sophisticated look. The styles that are frequently used include tubes, walls and spheres, which are often quite large.

Natural Rock/Stone

Rock and stone are used to create very natural looking water features. This is because they are cut from rock instead of mould. With each feature having slight variations, they provide you with an appealing attribute of uniqueness.

These water features are made from a variety of rocks, including slate, granite and marble among others. The very nature of these materials renders them very solid and durable. They are however very heavy, just like stainless steel.

Resin

Due to the versatility of resin, it is an ideal material for outdoor waterfalls and water features. There is a wide variety of resin water features, including fountains, figurines, spheres, wall fountains and tabletop features among others. Unlike their rock and stainless steel counterparts, resin water features are light in weight, making them suitable for those wishing to move the feature around.
